Day 1 - Arrival to The land of Thunder Dragon

You will be received by the crew of driver and your tour guide at the Paro International Airport. The trip starts with the beautiful city of Paro where you will visit the amazing Drukgyel Dzong which was built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646. It gives a magnificent view of Mt. Chomolhari in clear daylight.

 

Day 2 - Acclimatisation

A visit to the traditional village house near the dzong, will introduce you to the rich culture of Bhutan. Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest and the holiest shrine of Bhutan, is another spot to discover in Paro. Further, The National Museum- Ta Dzong and Rinpung Dzong- ‘The fortress of the heap of jewels’ are other attractions of the city.

Day 3 - Hike to Taktsang Monastery

The next morning takes you on a breathtaking excursion to the most revered Taktsang Monastery which is also called, the Tiger’s Nest.

Day 4 - Adventure (Day-1)

The third day begins with a short trek to Jele Dzong. This exciting trek gives a clear view of the charming Paro valley and the mighty snow capped mountains. The trek leads to the camp and above it, you will come across the awesome Jele-la pass (3,400m) and Jele Dzong. Explore the beauty of Lhakhang with the statue of Lord Buddha Sakyamuni in it.  After an overnight camp, the trail will lead through the scenic alpine forests and the lovely rhododendrons. Enjoy the fine views of Chomoihari and other snow covered peaks. Listen to the sweet sounds of monal pheasants calling during the day. Around the campsite, you may also see the yak herders making the view full of bountiful nature.

Day 5 - Adventure (Day-2)

View the sensational mountains and the pleasant valleys during the trek. Also, you will enjoy the grand view of the Jichu Drake (6,989m) which represents the protective goddess of Paro. Camp overnight near the Jimilang Tsho lakes famous for their giant sized trouts.

Day 6 - Adventure (Day-3)

The trek continues through the dwarf rhododendron trees and passes by the attractive Janetsho Lake. Get an insight into the lives of the yak herders and camp overnight near the Simkota Lake and relish fishing.The hike continues with all its excitement and thrill. Soothe yourself and admire the enchanting beauty of Mt. Gangkar Puensum and other peaks.

Day 7 - Adventure (Day-4)

The path further leads through the junipers to the campsite near the Phajoding cafeteria. Witness the natural bliss of the blue pine forests as the trek descends downhill all the way to Thimpu. This miraculous hike comes to the end by now in the capital city of Thimpu.

Day 8 - Sight Seeing in Thimphu

The stunning capital city of Thimpu awaits you next. It has a lot to offer from National Memorial Chorten, which is a monument to world peace, to the impressive fortress of Tashichhodzong- which houses some ministries, His Majesty’s secretariat and the central monk body.  The Handicrafts Emporium has a wide collection of intricately hand-woven textiles and other crafts of the traditional Bhutan. The list doesn’t end here. The National Library which conserves the literary treasures of Bhutan, the Institute for Zorig Chusum (commonly known as The Painting School) and the National Institute of Traditional Medicine are equally impressive.  

Day 9 - Depart to Paro International Airport

This extraordinary tour of Bhutan bids you goodbye at Paro, with all the memories of this celebrated Kingdom.

Know Before

As you plan your trip to Bhutan, you need to know these important points:  

·         Carry your Passport with you which should be valid for at least 6 months from your exit date from Bhutan.

·          Ensure that you have a photocopy of the picture page of the passport showing all the details on it like your passport number and other important details. Keep this safely in your bag as it will fasten the process of applying for a new passport in case you lose the original one.

·         Carry the printout copy of the visa and the International air tickets with you.

·         Be prepared with layered clothing as temperature varies to a large extent in Bhutan. You can experience minimum 04 degrees to maximum 35 degrees of temperature. Temperatures vary depending on the altitude and time of the day. Always carry a couple of warm clothes in your travelling bag when you visit the country regardless of the season. 

·         It is advisable that you consume only bottled water, sodas and beer while on the trip.Tap water is  not very  safe and hygienic to drink in Bhutan.

·         Avoid eating uncooked foods like cold salad while on your tour as these are washed in normal tap water and can cause gastro-intestinal discomfort.

·         Tipping is not mandatory, but if you are satisfied to a large extent with the staff then you can appreciate them in this way.

 Few points to note

·         While in Bhutan, accept or offer articles with your right hand or with both the hands as it denotes that you honor the offering and the giver or the recipient.

·         Always walk in a clockwise direction around the Buddhist shrines and temples as it is a symbol of respect and regard. This also holds true for mani walls (stone walls with Buddhist mantras on them) and chortens.

·         Whenever in doubt, check with your guide as he will give you additional tips. You will be travelling to areas with very less foreign visitors and your warm attitude and interaction will fill adventure to the trip.

Get ready with the packing list so that you don’t miss anything you need for the marvelous trip to Bhutan.

 

Walking shoes – A pair of good lightweight walking shoes are required for strolling around the town

Shades- Sunglasses will relax your eyes from the intense sunlight and will make you feel comfortable.

Sun protective creams- Sunscreen protects your skin from the harmful effect of sun rays, and are highly recommended.

Headgears-  are useful to protect from the bright sun rays

Insect repellents are required to drive away mosquitoes and bugs.

Choose your clothing according to the season of travel to Bhutan. Cotton clothes are preferred in summers while light woolen clothes are for the evenings. Wear woolen clothes if you are visiting the country in the winter season.

Shorts are not allowed in public buildings and monasteries. Carry long pants or long skirts for these places, though you can wear shorts while trekking or strolling around the town.

Headlight is a must for night trekking and other adventurous activities while in Bhutan.

Powersource (Phone battery charger) – Ensure that you carry the mobile charger as your battery may die in between the trip.

·         Sturdy Trekking/hiking boots- are necessary for trekking through the hilly and irregular pathways of the kingdom.

·         Sunglasses- will protect the trekkers from the bright sunlight which makes it difficult to look around.

If you decide to Cancel Your Confirmed Booking, here is everything there is to know about our cancellation policy:


Cancelling a confirmed booking

When canceling a confirmed booking it depends on the moment of cancellation if, and for what amount you will be refunded.

You will receive a full refund when canceling within 24 hours of making the booking.

You will receive a refund for the amount you paid minus the service fee when canceling more than 24 hours after making the booking and more than 60 days before the start of the booking.

When canceling less than 60 days before the booking, or if the time between the moment of booking and the start of the booking is less than 24 hours you will not receive a refund.

If an experience is canceled by the Orroh, the guest will receive a 100% refund. 

This takes into account the starting time of the tour in the time zone of the experience.

Rescheduled bookings

In case your booking was rescheduled, the cancellation policy takes into account the date when the original booking was made. Therefore, whenever you cancel a booking which was rescheduled, no refunds apply.

Cancelling an unconfirmed booking

All bookings on request need to be confirmed by the host within 48 hours. If you cancel an unconfirmed booking within 48 hours, you will receive a full refund.
